Movie was super funny, highly recommend seeing it. I hope it starts a trend of animated movies for adults. Some pretty deep messages in it about religion which I thought was cool.
Small rant though: I recommend that you DON’T take a kid (under 12) to see this. I can’t emphasize this enough, this movie is not for kids in any way.
Surprisingly when me and my girl were waiting for the trailers to start I saw no less than 3 families walk in with 2 or more kids under the age of 12. About 10 minutes into the movie when the fucks, motherfucks, and sexual commentary started 2 of these families left, the last one stayed for the whole thing.
If Someone takes their kids to see this movie I don’t think they are a bad parent but they are a severely misinformed parent. This movie was a couple of edits away from earning an NC17 rating if that means anything.
Another rant: if you are going to be an asshole and smoke something in the bathroom of a movie theater it better be fuckin weed. Walked into the bathroom after the movies and someone had definitely lit up a cigarette in there at some point. A bogey? Really? Who smokes a fuckin bogey at the movies. What’s the point? Smh

How could anyone think this would be for kids? I just heard about it on Fandango yesterday, and the first thing was "extensive crude sexual humor" to say nothing of the cartoon violence throughout. Way too intense for kids. Plus DAT TITLE. I mean, come on, parents.

And the poster... “A hero will rise”
Who doesn’t pick up on all of this? Did they even watch the trailer before they went to see the movie?

Definitely not informed. I mean most parents just see cartoons and think it's okay. The commercials have kept out all of the raunchy stuff obviously so they are going off the commercials.

Yep...Simpsons was really the beginning. Before that, there were ZERO mainstream cartoons that weren’t for kids in the 30 years before it. So people just assumed it was family-friendly, then Bart started dropping the “Damn” and “Ass” all over the place and people flipped out. Then Beavis & Butthead, then Southpark, Family Guy, and now it’s everywhere. I can’t believe people are still so naïve.

I agree. To each his own when. It comes to parenting but you know those families that left will be the first to complain about their special little flowers being exposed to that

Hopefully they didn’t get a refund because that’s their fault. I’ll be honest I’m really cool about stuff because as a kid I grew up watching MadTV and playing Mortal Kombat on Sega but this movie is just OD, they go hard figuratively and literally! I wouldn’t let any kid under 13 watch it

To be fair this is the first 3D toy story style movie for adults. If you didn't know it was rated R and only saw the commercial you wouldn't think it was as vulgar as it truly is. Overall I loved the movie and plan on seeing it again with friends since I saw it with my girl last night.

Is it bad that part of me wants to see this in theaters just so I can see clueless people rush their kids out because they didn’t bother to see what the movie was about first?

All the commercials I’ve seen say “hey morons, don’t bring the kids. This is not a kid’s cartoon. *random acts of debauchery* this movie is for adults. Rated R.”

Isn’t it rated R? The parents should have known better.
